Eva's Cottage, Gardenstown

Gardenstown is exactly an hour's drive north of Aberdeen and ten miles east of Banff where you will find a range of shops, including a well-stocked Tesco.

If you're into golf, the local courses are open to visitors.

The village has its own butcher and Post Office, there's a wonderful baker selling local delicacies like the Gamrie Knottie, (the K is pronounced) a hard, iced gingerbread.

The cottage has one single bedroom, a twin and a double. It is not suitable for people with mobility problems as the bathroom is up some rather steep stairs. The sea is almost right outside the door so young children might require supervision.

The cottage has electric radiators in every room and a lovely open fire (coal supplied) in the sitting room. There's a TV/ DVD. Towels and linen are supplied and there is a washing machine.
